10.28: VanDrak joins Ransom and the others as they make for the hanger of the GES Rising Dawn; Penumbra Vale takes Kochai Subatis’ severed head with her. The dog soldier steals past the last squad of imperial marines guarding a guncutter and boards. Once inside he murders the two marines on the bridge as Ransoms leads the others against the marines outside the ship. A battle rages across the airless hanger, but when Fenris commanders the guncutter’s auto-cannon the last of the marines is gunned down. Penumbra sends a comm to Venus and then uses the artifact, known as the War Soul, to stand down the destroyer’s crew promising to plead for mercy at the God-Emperor’s hand. She uses an imperial command-code to slave the destroyer’s systems to the guncutter.

11.01: The UMC Rakshasa arrives at Void Station on Vanth and the crew takes rooms at the Hotel Obsidian. Having negotiated through Penumbra, repairs begin on the badly damage Rakshasa and Rising Dawn courtesy of the God-Emperor. The entire crew of the destroyer is disembarked at Void Station banished from Venus for their complicity in the Controller’s plot.

11.02: Arden Horkos and Princess Morrigan board a shuttle at the Horkite Temple and transit to Orcus where the Princess goes before the Blind Seers.

11.03: Just after midnight, Penumbra Vale brings the dog soldier along when she goes to Purgatory to meet a local named Morbus. In a deal arranged by Vega, she secures a mind worm. Later, she uses it to probe the depths of Subatis’ dead mind. At the Hotel Obsidian Penumbra calls Ransom and the command crew together in the princess’ room and reveals what she has learned. After starting the war between Mars and Venus, the Controller intended to use the War Soul and Blackmoon, once his consciousness inhabited Morrigan’s mind, to persecute a campaign of total annihilation against Mars. Drawn by the possible destiny foretold by the Blind Seers, Morrigan arranges with Ransom to be taken to the Black Queen rather than returned to Oberon.

11.30: With the repairs complete, the princess and command crew decide to spend their last night at Purgatory. Near midnight, Morbus and a group of Empty Men, engaged by plutonian employers, attempt to snatch the dog soldier. A bloody fight erupts across the club and after killing one of the Empty Men, the reckoner is gutted by another. After Fenris kills Morbus, the Empty Men withdraw leaving Horkos near death. The dog soldier carries the fallen reckoner back to the SkyCar where Morrigan is able to stop the bleeding.
