The reinforcement increases the Armor die a step, but receives no adjustment for Quality.

The reinforcement increases the Soak die a step, but receives no adjustment for Quality.

The current statement on page 44 is correct. It is an Armor die that is used for Soak checks. See Armor die on the same page.
