Day 22: Whitechapel, Never, and Nai take rooms at the Landing. While they are eating their supper, a goblin talismonger, Grot Wonderbringer, arrives offering his wares. Never buys Bael’s Fire from the goblin.

 

Day 23: Breakfast at the Landing is interrupted when Dutch Burrow and a pair of gnolls make a rude entrance holding Kleun, the hand at the inn, at gunpoint. They have come to convince Molly to accept their boss, Mathias Creed’s, offer to buy the Landing. Posturing ends in gunfire erupting in the common room. Whitechapel outdraws Burrow shooting him. Never finishes off one of the gnolls. Burrow and the remaining gnoll, both badly wounded, attempt to escape in Creed’s brass carriage, the Mag’nuum Drak’onis. Never manages to hurl the flask of Bael’s Fire into the carriage just before the door closes and then leaps onto it as it picks up speed. Clinging to the now hurtling carriage, Never manages to pull the door lever. Smoke and flames pour out of the carriage. When they abate and he pulls himself inside only charred bodies remain. Never seizes control of the Mag’nuum Drak’onis.
